"Healthy, Overcomers, Purposed with an Eternal Perspective"
Do you need an easy read and a great devotional? Then this is the book for you! "31 Verses to Write on Your Heart" by Liz Curtis Higgs is a great resource for women.

Liz begins with an introduction of how we need to know God's Word in order to help us navigate through life.

She breaks this devotional down into 31 different lessons of which you can read over and over again.

I love the uniqueness of this devotional because Liz uses one scripture in each lesson, and breaks it down into parts. She then discusses each part and provides her personal, honest commentary.

She also includes tips
on studying and memorizing scripture, and there is a topical note section in case you would like to focus on something specific.

Overall, this is a great resource for women of all ages. I gave this book a 5, and I am looking forward to more works by this author.

I received a free copy of this book from "Blogging for Books" in exchange of an honest review
"Why is Great-Grandma So Sad?" by Susan Heagy is a a children's book. This is a great resource for teacher's, parents, and grandparents that want to help their youth understand the Holocaust.

This is a children's picture book. As a middle school English teacher, I truly enjoyed reading this book. I could have used it with my 8th graders while teaching the Holocaust unit. This story is told through the eyes of a young girl and her mother. She begins by asking her mother why her great-grandma is so sad and sitting alone in her chair. Rebecca, the mother, begins to tell her daughter, Sarah, her grandmother's story.

Sarah's grandmother endured hunger, abuse, and the lost of loved ones. She was blessed to have survived such horrible conditions and mistreatment.

The book also contains a timeline, a glossary of
terms, and a list of Holocaust survivors on the last pages.

I loved, loved, loved this book! I gave it 5 stars and would especially recommend it to fellow educators of all grade levels. It is simple, yet profound.
“Always With You” is an amazing read! This is not your typical novel. It is filled with mystery all the way through to the last page. Tyler and Isabelle are the main characters. They are a couple that is brought together by God Himself. Although, they endure family struggles, heartbreak, and even deception, in the end God's grace prevails. I believe that forgiveness and true faith are the main themes of this novel. All of us as believers had to find our way to the truth in Christ Jesus, and this novel shows an example of a similar journey.

I would recommend this novel to anyone that wants to read something different with a few twists and turns. Yet, speaks loudly the message of redemption and love. The characters, setting, and conflicts are all different from your typical novel.

I gave this novel 5 stars. I couldn't put it down and my love for Christ and others has grown because I read it!

Book Review: “Secret Places Revealed” by Elder Paulette Harper

Secret Places Revealed is a Christian Fiction novel about Simone and Aaron. This novel is a great read! The two main characters meet under normal circumstances, but have their own personal struggles to contend with.

This novel deals with the area of trust and individuals dealing with their own internal conflicts and faith in God. Paulette does a great job revealing the inner feelings and emotions of the characters.

This novel also addresses true friendship, friendship that hold one accountable, friendship that helps one to look truthfully at themselves.

This book has some surprises that will leave you wanting to read more.

I truly enjoyed reading this novel and can't wait for the next one by this author.

I gave this novel 5 stars and would recommend it. You will not regret it!

The scripture for Hope-In-Christ Book Club:

Matthew 6:22-23 - The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

We must continue to guard our eyes and our heart. Therefore, the books are carefully selected and assured that they are rooted in God's Word.
